Luxury-infused guest experiences with Zaid Mashini

Zaid Mashini, a visionary leader, discusses his recent appointment as hotel manager of IHG Jordan and unveils his vision for the future of the property.

How did you reach where you are today?

Over the course of 16 years in the hotel industry, I have reached many milestones, such as becoming the youngest executive committee member at Crowne Plaza Muscat in 2016. Transitioning from commercial to operational leadership, I was appointed hotel manager of the Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Kuwait cluster. I’ve recently joined IHG Jordan as hotel manager, something that I am very proud of.

How would you describe the hospitality sector in Jordan?

The hospitality sector in Jordan has witnessed growth in the number of hotels, resorts and boutique accommodation that caters to different preferences and budgets. This diversity enhances the overall visitor experience. Despite the positive growth trends, the hospitality sector in Jordan also faces challenges, such as regional instability.

As the newly appointed GM of InterContinental Jordan, what are your plans for the property?

I have several strategic plans and goals to enhance the property’s reputation, guest experience and overall success. I intend to focus on achieving operational and culinary excellence, implementing environmentally friendly practices, fostering a positive work environment by recognizing and rewarding exceptional employee performance, invest in cutting-edge technology solutions to enhance guest experience, enhancing the hotel’s online presence and gathering feedback from guests, staff and stakeholders on a regular basis to identify areas for improvement.
