Wilco to launch USD 11 million slaughterhouse

Wilco PM, a prominent poultry and meat agricultural company, is set to establish a state-of-the-art slaughterhouse in Chekka, North Lebanon. This facility will feature an impressive production capacity of 6,000 chickens per hour, significantly enhancing the local poultry supply chain.

The new slaughterhouse will not only focus on processing chickens but will also produce a diverse range of poultry products. This includes both frozen and processed chicken items, catering to the growing demand for high-quality meat products in the region. With a total investment of USD 11 million, this ambitious project reflects Wilco PM’s commitment to advancing the agricultural landscape in Lebanon.

One of the key aspects of this initiative is its potential impact on the local economy. The establishment of the slaughterhouse is expected to create approximately 254 employment opportunities, providing jobs for skilled and unskilled labor in the area. This influx of jobs will not only support the local workforce but also contribute to the overall economic development of North Lebanon.

Furthermore, the project has recently received an incentive package from the Investment Development Authority of Lebanon (IDAL). This support underscores the government’s commitment to fostering growth in the agricultural sector and enhancing food security within the country.

As Wilco PM moves forward with this project, the company aims to set new standards for poultry processing in Lebanon, ensuring that products meet international quality standards while promoting sustainability. The Chekka slaughterhouse is poised to become a pivotal player in the region’s meat production industry, helping to meet the increasing consumer demand for safe and quality poultry products.
