IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Maxim Hotels and Resorts Management to introduce the Vignette Collection brand to Egypt. The signing in Port Said marks a major milestone, with the hotel scheduled to open in December 2027.

The Vignette Collection Hotel Royal Maxim Port Said will seamlessly blend heritage with contemporary hospitality. Furthermore, it will offer guests a luxurious yet authentic experience. Consequently, it will be a destination that enhances Egypt’s hospitality landscape.

The 140-key hotel will feature two distinct sections, with each section comprising 70 rooms. While one section will be restored from a heritage building once housing the Suez Canal Authorities, the other will be a newly constructed beachfront property, offering guests unparalleled access to the shore.

Vignette Collection is a family of exclusive, one-of-a-kind hotels designed for guests seeking rich, varied experiences in sought-after locations. This enriches IHG’s fast-growing luxuryand lifestyle offer, catering to both leisure and business travelers.

Moreover, Vignette Collection offers owners of world-class independent hotels the opportunity to retain their distinctive identity.

Haitham Mattar, MD of IMEA at IHG Hotels & Resorts, commented: “We are excited to partner with Maxim Hotels and Resorts to debut the Vignette Collection brand in Egypt. With its conversion-friendly proposition and unique stays promise, the Vignette Collection brand has seen phenomenal success worldwide.”

Furthermore, he emphasized: “Egypt’s resilient hospitality sector continues to soar, aiming to create 400,000 hotel rooms by 2028 in response to strong tourism performance. IHG is well-positioned to contribute to this target and expand our luxury and lifestyle portfolio in Egypt.”

IHG® currently operates seven hotels across four brands in Egypt, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Staybridge Suites. With a strong pipeline of 21 hotels expected to open within the next three to five years, IHG continues to expand its presence in Egypt and beyond.

The new-build Vignette Collection Hotel in Egypt will join other Vignette properties worldwide, including those in Portugal, Austria, Thailand and Australia.
