Here, he discusses the unique aspects of the property and discusses Egypt’s evolving hospitality scene.

What are the advantages of operating a new resort in Egypt?

Operating a new resort in Egypt, particularly in New Alamein, offers numerous advantages. To begin with, the location is a burgeoning destination known for its coastal beauty, natural attractions and serene environment. Consequently, it is an attractive spot for both local and international travelers. Additionally, Egypt’s hospitality market is vibrant and diverse, allowing us to introduce innovative services and experiences. Furthermore, the growing tourism sector provides ample opportunities to cater to a wide range of guests seeking unique, memorable experiences. This, in turn, contributes to the local economy and community, aligning with the country’s vision to achieve 30 million tourists by 2028.

What challenges did you experience in opening the property?

Opening a new resort in Egypt comes with its unique set of challenges. We were seeking perfection, which required us to be agile and futuristic to meet the rapidly changing expectations of future travelers and new generations. Establishing a new property in a competitive market requires substantial effort in building brand recognition and trust. While hiring the right team can often be a challenge to find a mix of energetic, switched-on, positive individuals. Therefore, by implementing the right training models during the pre-opening phase, we were able to set them on the right track. With a strategic approach and a dedicated team, we have successfully managed these challenges to create a premier resort destination.

How would you describe Egypt’s hospitality industry?

The hospitality industry in Egypt is dynamic and holds immense potential. Firstly, the country’s rich history, cultural landmarks and natural beauty continue to attract tourists worldwide. Moreover, recent investments in infrastructure and tourism, such as improvements in airports, railways and other projects, have further bolstered the industry’s growth. However, there is still room for improvement in terms of service standards and sustainable practices. At Rotana, we are dedicated to addressing these areas by focusing on innovation, quality service and sustainability. Additionally, further focus is needed on developing human capital to prepare qualified professionals for this rapidly expanding industry.

What are your plans for the property?

Having opened this summer, our primary goal for Palma Bay Rotana Resort is to establish it as a destination within the destination. Additionally, we offer travelers everything they need without the necessity to leave the property, including diverse dining options, leisure activities and wellness programs. Furthermore, we plan to develop a beach club experience catering to guests seeking premium service in a picturesque setting. This beach club will be more than just a beach; it’s intended to be a lifestyle retreat where art, soul and relaxation converge. Moreover, guests will have the opportunity to engage in cultural experiences and wellness activities. Consequently, this will be an ideal space for those seeking a rejuvenating escape that nourishes the body and inspires the mind. Additionally, we aspire to make the resort a premier venue for weddings and social events, utilizing our scenic location and dedicated service. Ultimately, our goal is to position Palma Bay Rotana as a benchmark for hospitality in New Alamein and a preferred choice for travelers.
