The African room construction total represented a 7.1 percent decrease compared with July 2017. In total, 145 properties are under construction, and 48 are in the final planning.
In the Middle East, the UAE leads the projects under development in the region, with a total of 50,000 new rooms under construction. It is followed by Saudi Arabia with over 45,000 rooms, and Qatar with almost 12,000 rooms to be added to the country’s inventory.
