Seven Sands, the contemporary Emirati restaurant owned by Dubai World Trade Center, has appointed Abdullah Yahya Alshhadeh as the outlet’s new head chef. In his new role, Alshhadeh will be responsible for the day-to-day operations including further development of the contemporary Emirati cuisine that has become the hallmark of the brand. Alshhadeh will develop new dishes by sourcing the best local produce and marry it with his own creativity and in-depth knowledge of local cuisine.

Chef Alshhadeh brings over 10 years of experience to Seven Sands, having previously worked as specialty chef for venue operations at the Dubai World Trade Center. Prior to joining the culinary team, he held, amongst others, the positions of executive chef at Siraj Restaurant in Souk Al Bahar, chef de partie at Fairmont Dubai and demi chef de partie at Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort.

A renowned expert in Arabic cuisine, Chef Alshhadeh has participated in and won several culinary competitions. Awards include the Arabic cuisine silver medal in the Emirates Salon Culinary East Coast competition in 2012 and 2013 as well as Best Arabic chef in the same competition in 2013. Chef Alshhadeh holds a diploma from the Hotel and Tourism Institute in Syria.

“We are delighted to welcome Abdullah,” said Saad Tassoufra, operations manager at Seven Sands. “His strong skillset in Arabic cuisine will help take the restaurant to the next level.  We are currently in the process of developing over 25 new recipes for our new menu, which is set to launch in June.”
