HORECA Lebanon’s Hospitality Salon Culinaire promises big action

In preparation for the highly anticipated 25th edition of HORECA Lebanon next month, a special Hospitality Salon Culinaire live chat was organized on February 20 at Le Royal Hotel in Dbayeh.

The event gathered over 300 participants who will be competing in a series of live cooking and display challenges during HORECA, which takes place at Seaside Arena Beirut from 20-23 March.

During the live chat, attendees were introduced to the sponsors in addition to the organizing committee of the Hospitality Salon Culinaire, comprising Charles Azar, master consultant chef, Joe Barza, Lebanese terroir culinary artist and Maroun Chedid, owner of Maroun Chedid SAL.

“The Salon Culinaire is very important because it encourages chefs to do research and improve their technical skills as well as learn about what’s new abroad,” said Azar.

Chedid added: “As a chef, HORECA is an incubator of skills, talent and chefs in general. Today, I look around and I see so much talent and so many chefs that have enjoyed international success. HORECA was the base that supported this success.”

“HORECA is the spark that set off the region’s hospitality industry and 25 years went by in an instant. We managed to achieve what we were aiming for: to highlight the richness of the country’s cuisine,” said Barza.

Speaking about the importance of the show, Semaan Hilal, head of the Hospitality Salon Culinaire in Kuwait and jury member of the salon at HORECA Lebanon, said, “HORECA has contributed a lot to the region’s hospitality industry. It’s a great opportunity not only for the younger, up-and-coming chefs but for the experienced ones as well.”

A training on new kitchen equipment was also delivered by Elias Rached, consultant in kitchen equipment and innovation and regional director of MKN Middle East and Africa.

This year’s HORECA will host over 350 exhibitors showcasing more than 2,500 brands. An unprecedented number of over 300 participants will be competing in various competitions at the Hospitality Salon Culinaire in hopes of winning valuable prizes.
