Promoting European Rice in Lebanon

A press event was held to promote ‘European Rice’ in the Lebanese market on December 3rd 2020 at Movenpick Hotel Beirut.  Despite these difficult circumstances the whole world is going through, the event was a great success with hosted guests from the Lebanese food sector, F&B wholesale industry and media. 

The Greek Counselor of Commercial and Economic Affairs in Lebanon Iakovos Kollaros addressed a short greeting and consequently via live connection from Greece, Konstantinos Giannopoulos – General Manager of EASTH SA – presented details about the European promotional program and key points about Greek rice production. 

The programs’ Food Ambassador in Lebanon, chef Sara Assi, gave the audience an excellent presentation on the benefits of European rice produced in Greece together with many useful tips for the most delicious rice cooking. As a conclusion to all those very interesting speeches, a live cooking show plus a tasting dinner summed-up the action of the night!

The European program entitled Information provision and promotion measures on rice in Jordan, Lebanon and the U.A.E. with the title “European Rice – Rice to the top!” aims to spread awareness among the general public, but also professionals such as food experts, distributors and wholesalers about the authenticity and unique production of the European rice as well as to enhance the competitiveness of the European rice produced in Greece. 

Within the framework of the program, a few weeks earlier the promo action of sample distribution of European Rice was successfully completed in 25 points in large supermarket chains, in order for the consumers to taste this unique product.
