New leaders at Crowne Plaza properties in the UAE

Crowne Plaza Dubai Deira has promoted Emad Ramzy to hotel manager. Joining the hotel in 2019, Ramzy brings more than 14 years of hospitality experience to the role, having worked in Egypt, Lebanon and the UAE.

In his previous role, Ramzy was the director of banquet operations at InterContinental Hotels at Dubai Festival City, where he contributed to achieving GOP 3.09 percent above budget YTD 2019. After that, he moved to Crowne Plaza Dubai Deira hotel as F&B manager. During his tenure at the property, Ramzy’s performance led him to be promoted to hotel operation manager by July 2020.

Martijn Zengerink was also promoted to hotel manager at Crowne Plaza Jumeirah. His formula to success is an amalgam of an adventurous spirit and desire for self-development.

Zengerink put his business degree into use by embarking on various management roles across Thailand. He rose through the ranks at Amari Koh Samui, Amari Phuket, and Oriental Residence Bangkok, handling the front office and F&B departments. He was appointed director of operations of a 560-key flagship hotel of Onyx Hospitality, the Amari Watergate Bangkok in Thailand. He has notably achieved a topping GOP 2020 by implementing revenue-driving strategies, with an extensive expense-management plan and consistently maintaining a GSI of over 105, putting the property among Bangkok’s most preferred hotels.

With much devotion and enthusiasm, Zengerink always finds ways to explore new revenue streams, thriving in unmarked markets and advancing the hotel’s position. He has greatly contributed to the relaunch of the hotel’s sports bar, The Docks, which is now a popular spot in the area.
