What can you tell us about Bidfood Middle East and the size of your operations?

Bidfood Middle East is the leading food and beverage distributor, and it is home to the first e-distribution platform in the region. Moreover, available in five countries: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman and Jordan, Bidfood ME is part of BidCorp Group. This international broad-line foodservice group is listed on the JSE and present across five continents and over 34 countries. Furthermore, Bidfood in Oman, founded in 2014, provides high-quality food and beverage products throughout the country. With distribution centers in Muscat and Salalah, we ensure nationwide delivery. Additionally, we cater to various sectors such as hotels, restaurants, cafes, catering companies, airlines, sports centers and cinemas.

Who are some of the clients you are serving in Oman?

We are continuously committed to providing top-quality services to meet the unique needs of our valued clients, ensuring success and satisfaction in every aspect of their business operations. With that being said, we are proud to say that we serve diverse and esteemed clientele in Oman, including a mix of local and international hospitality giants, ranging from luxurious fine-dining establishments to quick-service restaurants. How would you describe the local market?

Oman is distinguished by its rich cultural heritage. It blends traditional Arab, Persian, Indian and East African flavors with modern culinary trends. Additionally, the growing tourism and hospitality sectors are driving demand for high-quality and diverse food options. These options cater to both locals and expatriates. Moreover, health-conscious and organic food trends are increasingly popular. The strategic location of Oman facilitates international trade and a wide variety of products. Furthermore, the government’s investment in infrastructure ensures efficient logistics, food safety and quality. These strict regulatory standards create a dynamic and evolving market.

How successful has your e-commerce platform been in Oman?

Our e-commerce platform, myBidfood, has been incredibly successful in Oman. As the first e-distribution platform in the Middle East, we’ve onboarded over 70 percent of our customers to myBidfood. This is a significant accomplishment and a testament to the platform’s efficiency and user-friendliness. Moreover, this platform allows customers to order anytime, anywhere, accessing the complete Food & Beverage portfolio offered by Bidfood Oman. Additionally, customers gain BidPoints with each order through the Sahtein loyalty program. They can also track all orders live, check their statement of account and pay online. Furthermore, they receive 24/7 live customer service assistance.

What projects are you pursuing?

We are actively pursuing several projects to enhance Bidfood’s presence in Oman. Firstly, we are focusing on portfolio growth to meet the growing consumer demands. This includes expanding in areas such as meat, seafood, poultry, beverages, dairy, bakery and much more. Additionally, we are implementing service enhancements to continue providing an unparalleled customer experience. These enhancements include faster deliveries, wider distribution, stock availability and much more. Furthermore, we are investing in technology on the front end with myBidfood to enhance the customer experience. Simultaneously, we are improving the back end with advanced supply chain solutions.
