Luigi Vespero promoted to director of F&B and culinary at Waldorf Astoria DIFC

Luigi Vespero has been appointed director of F&B and culinary for Waldorf Astoria Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). He joined the property in 2019 and has played a visionary role in the strategic planning of the hotel’s food and beverage and culinary function, supporting the entire team to deliver unforgettable and seamless gastronomic experiences to guests.

During his time at Waldorf Astoria DIFC, Vespero has successfully led his team to winning prestigious awards for Bull & Bear, such as the 2020 and 2021 Best North American & Caribbean title for two consecutive years at Time Out Restaurants Awards Dubai, Best Steakhouse Restaurant at the Fact Dining Awards Dubai 2020 & 2021 and recently the first brunch award at What’s On Dubai Awards 2021.

Some of Vespero’s prized accolades include winning “Chef of the Year” at the BBC Good Food Middle East Awards 2018, “French Specialty Chef” at the Pro Chef Middle East Awards 2017, “Most Commended Chef of the Year” at the Caterer Middle East Awards 2018, and Esquire Middle East’s “Top 100 Most Influential People” in 2018. He was recently included in the Executive Chef Power 50 as the 50 most influential executive chefs working in the Middle East’s hotels in 2021.

A leader by nature, he is perfectly poised to direct his F&B and culinary teams at Waldorf Astoria DIFC and ensure elevated dining experiences at the signature Bull & Bear restaurant, St. Trop rooftop lounge and iconic Waldorf Astoria Peacock Alley.
