The international gastronomic society La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs marked its 40th anniversary in Kuwait by bringing together enthusiasts who share the same values of quality, fine dining, and passion for the culinary arts. Hoteliers, restaurateurs, executive chefs and sommeliers were present to honor the association’s milestone.
The event was attended by ambassadors to the State of Kuwait, as well as local and international guests.
Presided over by La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs’ president Yam Attalah, the celebration honored those who continue to contribute toward Kuwait’s hospitality sector. Mohamed Najia, a hospitality master, was awarded the Bailliage du Kuwait trophy in recognition of his decades-long service to the hospitality industry. The decorated hospitality professional has received a number of prestigious awards, including a medal of merit from Académie Française de Cuisine and a recognition award from the Kuwait Humanitarian and Friendship Society. He has also been recognized by the World Tourism Organization.
Yam Attalah, president of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs, said: “Najia has been the delegate of the Bailliage of Kuwait for 38 years. Today, we are celebrating our 40 years in Kuwait thanks, in part, to his persistence and his capacity to get the best out of people. There is a great deal of hard work and talent behind getting the right resources for the good of the industry.
Najia said: “I am truly honored to have received this recognition and would like to thank my colleagues and the president for their support. After 40 years in the business, I have come to the conclusion that serving guests, visitors and tourists is more than a duty and goes beyond material gains that are measured by numbers and return on investments. As long as leaders in this industry consider hospitality and tourism as a long-term social investment, they will continue to feel as if they are creating a world that is magical and rewarding at the same time.”
The Kuwait bailliage of La Chaine des Rôtisseurs was established in 1982 and is one of the oldest in the MENA region. Today, there are 14 new members and 7 existing members. The total number of members of Kuwait’s Bailliage is now 113, including 15 honorary members (Chevalier D’Honneur) and ambassadors. The bailliage organizes eight to 10 galas each year, as well as casual dinners, in ambassadors’ residencies and hotels.
