KV Shamsudheen, founder and managing director of Paramount Food Service Equipment Solutions, gives us the lowdown on the company, its key milestones and growth plans.
How would you describe Paramount Food Service Equipment Solutions?
Since 1988, Paramount Food Service Equipment Solutions has been more than just a supplier. We have been a trusted partner in shaping the evolution of commercial kitchens. Over the past 36 years, we have dedicated ourselves to enhancing efficiency, sustainability and innovation in foodservice operations worldwide. Furthermore, our vision has always been to empower businesses, whether a single-unit restaurant, a global hotel chain or a next-generation cloud kitchen. Consequently, we provide solutions that go beyond equipment. We focus on functionality, operational flow and long-term sustainability to optimize every kitchen we touch for peak performance.
Today, our presence spans multiple countries, serving a vast clientele across Africa, the Middle East and Southern Asia. At our core, we remain true to the philosophy that has guided us from the beginning. Moreover, a kitchen is not just a place where food is prepared; it is the heart of any food business. Consequently, the right tools, intelligent design, and forward-thinking technology can elevate a kitchen into a strategic asset. Therefore, this transformation can change the way food is created, prepared, and served for both businesses and customers.
What have been the highlights of this year for your business?
This year has been about expansion, not just in terms of geography, but also in how we think about kitchen efficiency. We inaugurated a cutting-edge facility in Qatar, a 60,000 sq. ft. space designed to integrate production, innovation and retail under one roof. Additionally, we extended our footprint to Bahrain, reinforcing our role as a trusted partner in the region. However, beyond physical expansion, we have deepened our impact by enhancing operational excellence across our network of kitchens. Furthermore, being recognized as a “Winning Partner by Rational” is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality, innovation and performance.
The future of food service isn’t just selling equipment; it is about enabling businesses to thrive through better processes. Moreover, smarter investments and sustainable practices are key to creating long-term value for our partners. As we move forward, we remain focused on one core idea: how can we make kitchens more efficient, intuitive and future-ready? The answer will continue to drive everything we do as we work to advance our mission in the food service industry.
What significant changes have you observed, particularly in consumer preferences, needs, and demands?
The food service industry is undergoing a significant transformation, driven by rapid changes in consumer demand and technology. The rise of QSRs and cloud kitchens represent a fundamental shift in food preparation and delivery. Moreover, speed, consistency, and automation are now at the forefront of kitchen design, revolutionizing operations worldwide. However, while technology is advancing rapidly, the real challenge lies in knowledge and adapting to these innovations effectively in real-world settings.
Many businesses struggle to adapt to new systems, which creates a widening gap between innovation and practical implementation in kitchens. Training, upskilling and a deeper understanding of kitchen workflow have become essential for businesses to remain competitive and efficient. At Paramount, we see ourselves as educators as much as suppliers. Therefore, we aim to help businesses make informed decisions regarding technology, space utilization, and long-term sustainability in their operations.
Additionally, we are witnessing is the increasing awareness of energy efficiency and sustainability in food service operations. Commercial kitchens are among the highest consumers of energy. Consequently, there is a growing demand for equipment that reduces waste, optimizes energy use and aligns with global sustainability goals. Moreover, this is not just an environmental concern; it is also a financial one that requires urgent attention. Consequently, the future of food service belongs to businesses that can balance cost efficiency with environmental responsibility in a sustainable, forward-thinking way.
Do you have any news you would like to share with our readers?
We are excited about several upcoming developments that will further strengthen our presence in the food service industry. First, we are launching our flagship store in Kochi, India, reinforcing our presence in one of the fastest-growing food service markets. In addition, we are expanding our infrastructure with a 90,000 sq. ft. integrated warehouse facility in Umm Al Quwain. Consequently, our logistics capabilities and service efficiency will increase across the region. Moreover, another exciting expansion is our new showroom and production facility in Tirur. Thus, we will be able to offer even more localized support to our customers.
But beyond these physical expansions, our vision remains the same: to redefine what a commercial kitchen can be. Ultimately, success in food service is about how efficiently and sustainably you do it in today’s competitive environment.
