Getting to know Jawad Saade, GM of Hilton Dubai Creek Hotel & Residences at Jewel of the Creek

Jawad Saade

With over 22 years of international experience, Jawad Saade is leading the team at Hilton Dubai Creek Hotel & Residences. Here, the ambitious hotelier discusses his future plans for the hotel.

What qualities do you believe are essential for effective leadership in luxury hospitality?

In a highly competitive hospitality market like Dubai, effective leadership is built on a clear vision, adaptability and a commitment to excellence. Additionally, a GM must continuously innovate and anticipate emerging trends to stay ahead of the competition. Furthermore, he ensures the hotel meets the high expectations of luxury travelers who are spoiled for choice in the region. Leadership involves being empathetic and approachable, cultivating a team culture in which every member feels valued and motivated. In my experience, inspiring a team to deliver exceptional service day in and day out is crucial. Equally important, however, is the ability to maintain high standards of quality while offering guests unique, memorable experiences that distinguish the hotel.

What role does change management play in running a hotel in the UAE and how do you keep your team motivated during periods of transformation?

Change management is crucial in the UAE’s hospitality industry, where rapid innovation and high competition constantly demand dynamic hotels. Consequently, I prioritize open, honest communication, ensuring the team understands not just what’s changing but also why. Additionally, I focus on empowering my team through training, celebrating achievements and building confidence and morale throughout the process. By doing so, I create a supportive environment where team members feel invested in the changes, leading to greater engagement. As a result, this engagement drives commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences during every phase of transformation. At Hilton Blue Energy Vulture, we also embrace a diversity and inclusion, which sets us apart and fosters a healthy, high-morale work environment.

Why is sustainability important in a hotel?

Sustainability is crucial in hospitality, especially as more responsible travelers actively seek eco-friendly options when choosing where to stay. By adopting practices like energy conservation, waste reduction and water-saving initiatives, we reduce environmental impact and meet eco-conscious guests’ values. Furthermore, Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” strategy aligns perfectly with these goals, helping us provide meaningful, sustainable experiences. In addition, embracing sustainability enhances operational efficiency, strengthens brand credibility and ensures we lead by example. Ultimately, this approach reduces expenses, positively impacting our profits while fostering environmental stewardship and long-term business success.

What are your plans for the future?

My vision is to enhance guest experiences at Hilton Dubai Creek Hotel & Residences at Jewel of the Creek by integrating advanced technology and optimising efficiency across all areas. Sustainability will be a priority. I intend to implement energy-saving measures, reduce waste and promote water conservation as part of Hilton’s “Travel with Purpose” initiative. Additionally, I’ll focus on empowering our team with tools and training to deliver the personalized and seamless service that our guests value. By prioritizing these areas, I aim to position the property as a leader in luxury hospitality while fostering an exceptional workplace for our team.
