InterContinental Le Vendôme Beirut has been sold to a Qatari investor in a USD35 million deal, sources said.
Following up with circulating information, Hospitality News ME contacted the hotel in an attempt to clarify things.
“We can confirm that due to the impact of Covid-19, IHG and the Societe Des Grands Hotels Du Liban have mutually agreed that the InterContinental Le Vendôme Beirut will cease to operate as an InterContinental branded hotel from 13 July 2020,” Mary Choueiry Hassoun, director of marketing at Phoenicia Hotel told HN.
Hassoun continued: “As one of the world’s leading hotel companies, we remain committed to Lebanon and continue to operate IHG branded hotels in the country, including InterContinental Phoenicia Beirut.”
Le Vendôme was founded in 1964. Since then, the hotel’s distinctive decor, superb location and outstanding service secured its reputation as one of the world’s finest destination hotels. Le Vendôme today has 73 rooms and suites equipped with the latest technology, gourmet restaurants and a 24-hour destination bar.
