HORECA Kuwait opens in style, bringing food and hospitality into the spotlight

For the seventh consecutive year, HORECA Kuwait opened its doors to the world of hospitality in a glamorous launch held on 15 January 2018 at Kuwait International Fair in the presence of organizers, ambassadors and dignitaries.

Considered to be the largest annual hospitality show in the country, the grand platform continues to attract an increasing volume of exhibitors, hotel suppliers, restaurants, key industry players and talented world-class culinarians on a local and international level.

As every year, acclaimed chefs and master bakers from across Kuwait’s luxury hotels gather to compete to demonstrate their skills through heated competitions ranging from the “Perfect Steakhouse Challenge” to “The Ultimate Wedding Cake” displays. Buzzing with exciting activities, the hospitality show proves to be an exciting spectacle for everyone year after year – all in accordance to the latest developments and trends in the field of hospitality.

New and noteworthy to the show is the Bed Making competition, where the most gifted of housekeeping members across hotels in Kuwait put their talents to the test to achieve the perfect bed in front of a professional jury.

Another new highlight to the show is the Hospitality Forum, a dedicated area where speakers and experts delve into various subject matters shaping the hospitality industry. One of the first seminars discussed the impact of foodie bloggers and influencers on the restaurant business in a nation filled with food enthusiasts. Armed with their passion for cuisine and smartphone devices, local bloggers joined HORECA for a panel discussion on the ever-expanding online food world, the role of digital influencers and the growing trend among restaurants to have “Instagrammable” dishes.

During the first day of the exhibition, a session was also held by the South African Embassy where the delegation presented a seminar on trade and investment in the field.

HORECA Kuwait runs until 17 January 2018.
