Copthorne Kuwait City’s hotel culinary specialists win 8 awards at HORECA Kuwait 2019

The contest among Kuwait’s leading hotel and restaurant chefs lasted for three days and included a variety of activities such as live cooking competitions that ranged from appetizers, desserts, hot and cold beverage and display categories. Under the supervision of the Executive Chef Hossam Salah, the talented Copthorne Kuwait City hotel culinary specialists showed a unique performance at the competition and were awarded one gold and two silver medals, in addition to five merit medals. At this year’s competition, Sous Chef Sam Niroshan was awarded a gold medal in the “Cold Canapes” category and two silver medals in the “Six course Set Dinner Menu” and “Cold or Hot Sandwich Challenge” categories. Over the three years as a HORECA competitor, Niroshan won 6 gold, 5 silver, 4 bronze medals and 3 certificates.

The Copthorne Kuwait City hotel culinary specialists participating were also honored with five merit medals; Senior Chef de Parti Morshed Matior won the “Three Plated Dessert Presentation”, Demi chef Chaminda Jayalal won the “Best Burger” and “Jack Creek Steak Challenge” categories, Commis II Sajith Iakshan won the “Chocolate Carving” and Demi chef Biswajith Shel won the “Mystery basket”.
