Chef Christophe Bacquié

Staging an appearance at this year’s HORECA Lebanon show was honorary guest Chef Christophe Bacquié who recently, and by decree of the President of the French Republic, was named Chevalier dans l’Ordre de La Légion d’Honneur.

The triple Michelin star and winner of the title of Best Craftsman of France in 2004 has been overseeing the restoration of the Hotel & Spa du Castellet and the kitchens of the gourmet restaurant since late 2009. He obtained his first Michelin star in 2002 and a second in 2007. In 2008, he was rewarded by the Relais Gourmand Trophy, to become the ‘Grand Chef’ of Relais and Châteaux. The following year, he decided to take up a new challenge and left Corsica for the gastronomic restaurant in Provence to become head chef at the Hotel & Spa du Castellet. Less than a year later, he launched a new bistro at the Hotel called Le SanFelice, which at the end of 2011 was included in the list of the Grandes Tables du Monde.

In 2015, the table of the Provencal gourmet restaurant becomes Restaurant Christophe Bacquié and three years later, at the age of 45, he is awarded his third star and joins the world’s most celebrated chefs. However, the honors kept coming as few months later, he is elected as the Best Chef of the Year 2018 by Le Chef magazine.

Earlier this year, the restaurant also received the Gault & Millau Hospitality Trophy.

She is currently the Publications Executive of Hospitality News Middle East, Taste & Flavors and Lebanon Traveler. It is with ultimate devotion for her magazines that she demonstrates her hospitality savoir-faire.
