Lebanese Tourism Minister, Walid Nassar, recently launched the 2022 summer campaign, “Ahla Bhal Talleh,” in collaboration with Live Love Lebanon NGO, under the auspices of Prime Minister-designate Najib Mikati. A ceremony, held at the Middle East Airlines Training and Conference Center on Wednesday, July 20, brought together Lebanese ministers, representatives of tourist institutions, VIPs, press, and workers in the private and tourism sectors.
Live Love Lebanon’s, co-founder Eddy Bitar delivered a speech in which he explained the rise of Live Love Lebanon and the work that led to it becoming a leading tourism platform. He also added: “It is all about cooperative work, which is why we’ve partnered with the Ministry of Tourism in hopes of reaching the Lebanon we dream of.”
Nassar reaffirmed the importance of collaboration and the role of the private sector, which he referred to as a permanent contributor to the tourism sector that constitutes the backbone of the local economy.
He went on to add that “Ahla Bhal Talleh” is not the first nor last campaign to promote tourism internally and abroad. “The launch of campaigns and tourist packages is part of an integrated action plan that we started from the first day we assumed this position,” said Nassar.
He went on to add that the ministry’s priorities are the decentralization of tourism, with the increase of the ministry’s tourist offices, and encouraging the Lebanese diaspora to visit the country, as well as introducing the new generation born abroad to their Lebanese heritage.
According to the latest data, 1.2 million tourists are expected to visit Lebanon this summer, Lebanese expatriates making up 75 percent of the total. “The number of arrivals in May 2022 reached 300,867, compared to 157,694 in May 2021.”
