Abu Dhabi’s Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa is now open

Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa is now welcoming guests.

Al Wathba’s historical location and Emirati resonance is home to the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, an important cultural event. The two-month festival, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, gives visitors a glimpse into Emirati traditions. The Resort’s proximity to the Emirates International Endurance Village provides the ideal sanctuary for visiting the annual UAE Endurance World Cup, the Al Wathba Wetland Reserve, cycling tracks and fossilized dunes.

The Arabian-style property sprawls over 22,000 square meters of desert and comprises a destination Spa, villas with private pools, Arabian-style rooms, a 1,000 m2 pool, six restaurants and bars including Al Mabeet, a desert dining experience which captures the spirit of the past.

Adventure seekers can enjoy biking through the dunes, desert treks, falcon shows every evening, archery and destination dining experiences.

“This is the ideal hideaway for couples and families seeking a tranquil escape,” says Axel Jarosch, General Manager, Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa. “Embedded deep into the breathtaking backdrop of panoramic desert views, the Resort offers a welcoming and alluring experience, resulting in a relaxing and invigorating escape. The Resort is designed to draw people together yet provide the freedom to be lost.”

The Resort’s spacious pool stretches out into the desert and expands into secluded inlets and coves, including a pool bar with in-water seating. The destination Talise Spa offers a sensory experience with 13 treatment rooms and private terraces. Rejuvenation journeys include Turkish Hammams, snow caves, hot and cold plunge pools and crystal salt and cryo therapy rooms. There is also a dedicated yoga platform for those who wish to find their desert spirit.

Cuisine draws inspiration from Arabian flavors and rustic tastes of Italy and the Mediterranean. Romantic poolside dining can be enjoyed at Panache or at the remote desert camp Al Mabeet, inspired by Bedouin traditions and the legends of Arabia.

Guests can discover a hive of gentle activity around the traditional courtyards and intimate spaces around the village square, bordered by the Resort’s restaurants and souk. Additional amenities include a kids’ club, conference and meeting facilities.

José Silva, Chief Executive Officer, Jumeirah Group, said: It’s important for us to have a portfolio in the UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi that reflects the true essence of the destination. The Resort joins two existing hotels – Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers – both in prime locations. The Resort combines Arabian charm, architecture and generous hospitality and promises a luxurious experience amidst a panoramic backdrop. We look forward to welcoming guests to the fascinating Emirate of Abu Dhabi.”
