Almost 2 million tourists in Lebanon in 2018, six percent y-o-y growth

The latest figures released by the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) revealed that over 1.9 million tourists have visited Lebanon during 2018, a six percent increase compared to 2017.

Q3, which is the summer season, attracted the highest number of visitors, marking a five percent growth year-on-year. However, the year concluded with high expectations, as over 458,000 tourists came to the country during the last quarter, marking a 12 percent growth compared to Q4 2017.

When it comes to nationalities, Europeans led visitors, constituting over 705,000 tourists and growing by 10 percent y-o-y. They were followed by Arabs (562,000), and Americans (357,700).
