Saudi Arabia to take center stage at Salon du Chocolat Paris 2024

The 29th edition of the world-renowned Salon du Chocolat will host Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor. From October 30 to November 3, 2024, the event will gather key players in the chocolate and cocoa industry at Paris Expo – Porte de Versailles. 

A place for visitors to network with chocolatiers, pastry chefs, confectioners, cocoa producers, brands and food bloggers, this year’s event promises an unforgettable experience, with a special highlight on Saudi chocolate producers. Indeed, attendees will be able to watch live demonstrations of Saudi Arabian pastry-making techniques and traditions led by renowned Saudi chefs. Notably, Sultan Alarifi and Abdualltef Alrashoudi will showcase the kingdom’s growing influence in global gastronomy.

 A monumental chocolate sculpture

Among the highlights will be the unveiling of a stunning chocolate sculpture that celebrates Saudi Arabia’s majestic wildlife. At over two meters in height, it will be designed by Saudi artist Badour Al Aqidi and crafted by master chocolatier Jean-Luc Decluzeau.

Saudi pastry masters

Visitors will also be provided with the chance to watch live demonstrations by two exceptional Saudi chefs during the event. Sultan Alarifi, a former banker, followed his passion for culinary arts while combining his financial expertise with a deep love for food. He trained at Le Cordon Bleu Paris, earning a grand diploma in French cuisine and pastry. Furthermore, he has completed several masterclasses with world-class chefs, enhancing his culinary skills.

In addition, Abdualltef Alrashoudi, the founder of Lâm, a bakery inspired by love for his homeland, will also showcase his creations. He is a former surgeon who switched careers to pursue his culinary dreams while bringing a blend of tradition and innovation.

Salon du Chocolat inauguration and fashion parade

The Salon du Chocolat will open its doors on October 29, 2024, with an exclusive evening event featuring the iconic fashion parade of chocolate dresses designed by top chocolatiers and fashion designers. The unique collaboration supports the Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque association, which enables children with heart defects to receive life-saving surgery, highlighting the event’s philanthropic spirit.
