Behind the scenes at 25hours with co-founder Christoph Hoffmann

Christoph Hoffmann, co-founder of 25hours Hotels, gives us the lowdown on his unique brand and how it caters to travelers of all ages.

How does 25hours Hotels maintain a balance between innovation and guest comfort?

The 25hours conceptional approach is based on our claim: you know one, you know none. Furthermore, every hotel we create is based on an individual design concept and tells its own story – uniqueness is key. Moreover, when it comes to design and innovation, we are not fans of any standard.

This also applies to our concept of hospitality. Bluntly speaking, the customer is king but on a different level than the guest may be used to. Furthermore, we leave it up to each employee to decide for themselves how they respond to the guest’s wishes. Additionally, they decide how they communicate with them, as long as it is positive. The aim is to leave the guest with a big smile on their face when they enter and leave the hotel. A bit of rock’n’roll and a bit of anarchy is what makes us happy, and hopefully the guests too.

How do you address the evolving needs and expectations of modern-day travelers?

Whenever we launch new hotels, we come up with things that are fun for us and focus less on guests’ needs.  We believe that we have a better understanding of hospitality than most of our guests. We want to surprise them and be pioneers in this field. And above all, we want to create places where people can connect outside of social media. So, whether they’re on a business trip, a digital nomad or a local guest, we aim for genuine connections. Ultimately, we aim to craft spaces where hotels serve as a community platform, providing a source of inspiration and connection to the analog world.

How do you envision the future of boutique and lifestyle hotels?

Boutique and luxury hotels have great potential and are very important for the future of the hospitality industry. For us, the terms boutique and lifestyle in the hotel landscape are obsolete, because the brand should speak for itself. We believe that 25hours Hotels does this.
