Idriss B – French Artist born and raised in Paris, collaborates with French Chocolate brand Valrhona. Idriss B. is famous for sculptures worldwide and very well known in UAE, even more so recently when onlookers witnessed his installations being lowered via Helicopter in the Dubai Marina!

Valrhona is famous among chefs around the world and gourmets’ connoisseurs’ that appreciate the art of chocolate.

Born and raised in Paris, Idriss has shown an interest in art since his childhood and along with his father has built a very significant personal art collection. With his considerable knowledge of new materials, combinations of different sources and various handmade art objects, Idriss began to think of a new collection. This collection was made by molding his vision of contemporary art to create polygonal animal forms in different sizes which he then sold to collectors as limited-edition pieces. The goal is to give the possibility for everybody to own unique piece of art. Idriss B.’s capacity and vision for design with The Art Collection is far wider than what you are reading here, and every piece is one of a kind.

“Chocolate is not just to eat. It is alive and changes structures with different heat and temperatures. It is a substance than can be carved, molded, sculpted, painted with cocoa butter. It has to be touched and manipulated by your hands. The Art comes from your brain, it is made with your hands, and completed from the connection with your heart. Craftmanship comes from the emotions,” said Glenn Noel, Pastry Chef trainer for Middle east, India & Africa for Valrhona.

Created by Idriss B., The Art Collection is continually evolving to reflect the time in which it is made. “Art Collection capacity is the fruit of creativity and will be growing with time. Each style is limited and is uniquely created based on your wishes. I am glad to realize each of those masterpieces and I am sure they will find their place into your environment.”

Idriss B explained his passion for both creative arts and the reason he chose sweet gastronomy: “Art & Chocolate are two rare pleasures which can please both your eyes and your soul”. His Baloo Bear Collection which holds a pot of honey can illustrate his feelings and emotions towards the childhood gourmandise & priceless memories of indulgence.

Idriss B. & Glenn N. collaborate for the first time to bring Art & Creativity at World Art Dubai, held by DWTC from 8th till 10th of October.
