220 Degree Catering heats up the emirates

220° C Catering Service diverse solution offerings

Rony Tawk, director of operation and partner at 220 Degree Catering discusses with HN his new company and how the industry is fairing in the Emirates.

Considering the cutthroat competition in the UAE, what was the reasoning behind your decision to open a catering company?

From a very young age I have appreciated good food and the art of cooking. I would never spend 20 years in the culinary world if it is not my passion. It comes from within. I found joy in cooking, especially when I can see the enjoyment and satisfaction on my clients’ faces. That’s what inspired me to open my own business despite the fluctuation of our economy. I believe it’s a great opportunity to showcase my creativity. Well, every business has its challenges that are unique to this specific industry. If you want to start a company and want it to grow successfully, then you should expect challenges. Competition is also everywhere. All I can say is that focus on your business and be confident in what you have been through to build it. Thus, in the end, the rewards are worth the hardships.

What are the services offered and how do these differ from what is available?

220° C Catering Service offers a variety of catering packages, whether you are planning a buffet, company holiday party, birthdays, anniversaries, private gatherings, patio BBQ, weddings and/or receptions, our team is here to assist you to create the best possible and most memorable event within a reasonable budget. What is different is that we specialize in food service management, ranging from corporate, industrial, educational, hospitality, healthcare, oil and gas, F&B retail management, banqueting and outdoor events and support services.

What kind of projected growth do you expect in the two coming years and are there any expansion plans in the cards?

Being in a catering business takes a lot of hard work and dedication. We have already signed with prominent  companies such as Security Services, as well as one of UAE’s biggest transportation companies called Cargo Company. As of now, we are providing around 1,200 meals per day for different nationalities. So, if you are working on something that you really care about, it doesn’t matter how hard it is.
