Reserve Ammiq, also known as Domaine Skaff, is part of Nature Farms a company of which the shareholders are third-generation farmers. The brand has holdings in one of the finest vineyards of West Bekaa, Lebanon. Vines are planted at about 950 meters above sea level in an area reserved for environmentally and sustainable farming practices. Refraining from using pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers results in lower yields, yet higher quality grapes.

The Domain is located in the Bekaa Valley, about 900 meters above sea level with, an average yearly rainfall of 600 mm and 300 days of sunshine. It is known that more than any factor, the quality of the grapes determines the quality of the wine. The estate’s methods are inspired by the strict control of yields to maintain the quality of the grapes by not irrigating the grapevines and which part of them are over 50 years old. Chemical fertilizers are never used in favor of organic fertilizers. Only wild indigenous yeast, present in the vineyard, is used on the surface of grapevines and the grapes themselves, when the need calls, during the fermentation process. The use of machinery is restricted to only plowing the land. Harvesting is done by hand, which allows the producer the advantage of choosing ripe and superior quality grapes. All these factors and processes contribute to the unique expression of flavors and aromas that characterize Reserve Ammiq.

This season, Reserve Ammiq is featuring two of its new wines:

• Chardonnay 2018
  White Wine is a monocepage of hand-picked 100% Chardonnay grapes
• Pinot 2012
  Red Wine is a monocepage of hand-picked 100% Pinot Noir grapes

Both wines are produced by combining traditional and modern vinification techniques and the brand’s own wild indigenous yeast grown in the vineyard. Combined, these lend the wines a unique complexity and individuality.
